that WhatsApp had the same feature too?

Enabling this feature is like adding extra layer to your account security, preventing from unauthorized
users, thus securing WhatsApp.

What does Secure WhatsApp Feature do?

Talking simply, you’ll need to enter a passcode like normal pin code of 6 digits. Now when
sometimes, or reinstalling WhatsApp you need to enter this passcode while registering
your number.

For Example, if you have uninstalled your WhatsApp and again installing it on your device, for
security purpose it will ask you the passcode you had setup.

How To Enable WhatsApp Two-Step Verification

Before going to secure WhatsApp by enabling this, make sure to update the WhatsApp to the latest
version. If your application is outdated, update it from play store (in the case using Android).

After you have done that, follow the step-by-step guide:

1. Go to WhatsApp by launching it, tap the three dots on the upper right side of the screen.

2. Tap on “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

5. Now, enter 6 digit passcode which you’ll need afterward.

6. Confirm it by typing it again.

7. Now it will ask you to enter your e-mail. This is not a necessary step, you can simply skip

When To Enter The Passcode

As said earlier, you need to enter this while making a new account on your device or re-installing the app.
For securing WhatsApp, it will ask you the passcode to enter periodically to remember it.

What If Forgot The Passcode

It will be a nightmare to you if you have forgotten your passcode. Don’t worry, I am not
scaring you, but to be on the safe side do remember the passcode.

You can also disable this feature if forgotten the passcode by sending a disable request to your e-mail.
And if you haven’t added any e-mail in “Step 7”, your account will be locked for the lifetime.

In that case, your number will not be permitted to reverify your account within 7 days of last
using it.

How To Disable Two-Step Verification

Follow this step-by-step guide:

1. Open WhatsApp, again tap on the three dots on the upper right side of the screen.

2. From the drop-down menu, tap on “Settings”.

3. Select “Account> Two-step verification”.

4. Now, tap on “Disable”

And if you remember you passcode, you can change your passcode, change e-mail address from this screen.
